SeAH Wind, British Steel, and Severfield Seal £100 Million-Plus Pact for Landmark Project
SeAH Wind, British Steel, and Severfield have joined forces in a groundbreaking £100 million plus agreement to support the new monopile facility which is currently under construction. British steel is set to supply over 30,000 tons of high-quality steel from their beam mill in Lackenby, Redcar and Cleveland, to Severfield, who will handle the steel fabrication of the facilities structure.
The facility will situate on 90 acres of land located in the South Bank Teesworks site, where once fully complete, the main building will tower 40 metres in height, stretch 810 metres in length and span 200 metres in width.
Both British Steel and Severfield are deeply cemented in the Northeast of England, and this collaboration is a testament to supporting local industries and contributing to the growth of the UK economy.
Chris Sohn, CEO of SeAH Wind, expressed, "This significant step re-confirms SeAH’s commitment to using not only local companies in the Teesside area but also working with the best companies in the UK to help build our factory to the highest standards."
